Aud Hamby is a multidisciplinary artist working with acrylic paint, and hand-embroidery. They earned their BFA in Drawing from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2022, and have since been working in the Oklahoma City metro.
Their work is centered around preserving expressions of lesbian and genderqueer identity, and seeing how queerness and deviancy is reflected in the natural world. Regardless of how “deviant” identities are viewed by other people, nature meets us with tolerance and neutrality. Integrating woodworking with hand-embroidery, they challenge the bounds of each medium, and represent gentle masculinity along with tough femininity.
